Meaning of Bequest
A gift of personal property by will; the term is frequently used as interchangeable with legacy. The term has also been used interchangeably with devise which strictly signifies a disposition of real estate by will. See Eaten v MacDonald 145 A.2d369, 154 Me. 227.
