Meaning of Clearance
The period of time usually stipulated in license contracts, which must elapse between runs of the same feature movie within a particular area or in specified theaters. See Theater Enterprises Inc. v paramount Film Distributing Corp., 346 U.S. 537, 74 S. Ct. 258, 98 L.Ed. 273. In maritime law , the term means to satisfy customs , harbor duties and the like, and obtain the right from governmental authority to leave port. International mercantile Marine Co. v Stranahan, 155 F. 428.
Clearance Alternative Definition
A certificate given by the collector of a port, in which it is stated that the master or commander (naming him) of a ship or vessel named and described, bound for a port named, and having on board goods described, in case the master requires the particulars of his cargo to be stated in such clearance, has entered and cleared his ship or vessel according to law.
International Trade Meaning and Definition of Clearance
The completion of customs entry requirements that results in the release of goods to the importer.
