Meaning of Embracery
This offense consists of the attempt to influence a juror corruptly to one side or the other by threats, bribes or any other corrupt means. It is complete as soon as the attempt has been made. See United States v Russell, 255 U.S. 138, 41 S.Ct. 260.
Embracery Alternative Definition
In criminal law. An attempt to corrupt or influence a jury, or any way incline them to be more favorable to one side than to the other, by money, promises, threats, or persuasions, whether the juror on whom such attempt is made give any verdict or not, or whether the verdict be true or false.
