Meaning of Expert Witness
A witness having special knowledge of the subject about which he is :o testify, e.g., a forensic scientist or polygraphist is an expert witness. A person possessing, with reference to particular subjects, knowledge not acquired by ordinary persons. Expert evidence is only admissible when the subject matter of inquiry is such that inexperienced persons are unlikely to prove capable of forming a correct judgment upon it without such assistance.
