In its customary and commercial sense, with reference to exchange between different states or countries, par yalue has been defined to be the equivalency of a certain amount of the currency of one country in the currency of the other. 26 Wend. (N. Y.) 224. By the par value of stock is generally understood the value expressed on the face of the certificate.
